Embrace Change. Learn. Grow. Thrive.

Let's face it. We've all gone through the ringer, collectively and  individually, these past two years.  As we are more fully emerging from the Pandemic and recovering our balance again, we yearn to fully step into a bright, new future. 

 

Unfortunately, the reality is much volatility, ambiguity, complexity and uncertainty remains in our world.  Change continues to be the only certainty in business and life - and the volume and pace of change can be overwhelming. 

 

Like a series of waves, change keeps coming, seemingly from all directions, causing significant disruption and destabilization in our businesses and lives. We also see the handwriting on the wall; we know this pace will not stop. 

​

Rather than fearing and resisting the change lurking around the corner, we have another option. We can learn to embrace change and even welcome it.  We sense our success - and sanity - will likely depend on it.  But how does lasting change happen? And, how do we learn to embrace change? 

​

I've learned that long-term success in any change effort or transformation - whether for businesses or individuals - requires rethinking, reflecting, and reimagining. It is the creation of new mindsets. 

 

Neuroscience - and life - teach us that shifts in mindsets aren't easy for humans. We've all experienced this challenge. The cognitive load is often heavy, which explains why change efforts often fail.

The good news is the same neuroscience confirms that real change awaits those willing to engage in this reflective work. In other words, real change - and real, positive results - can also be just around the corner.  We often just need help and support. That's where Fireside comes in.

Over the years, I've found it helpful to see the change process as a journey, where leaders "cross the bridge" from old mindsets to new mindsets. I know from experience the bridge to where you want to go might not always be straight or feel safe - and I know it can feel lonely.
